Careers Education, impartial advice, information and guidance

The Careers Centre is open before & after school, at break time and lunchtime where you will also find information about jobs, careers, universities and apprenticeships. Our advisors are: Andrew Lewis, Marie Locker, Sally Hodgkinson. The Higher Education Progression Officer (NCOP), Zoe Long, can give you more information about Universities.

 

You will:

  • Take part in a careers programme in Years 7-13 that helps you to: understand your education, training, employment & other progression opportunities
  • Develop the skills you need to plan & manage your own personal development and career progression
  • Access relevant information and learning from taster activities & work experience in Y10 & 12
  • Make & maintain a ‘student passport’ to help you improve your   prospects of success in education, employment or training
  • Offer feedback and ideas on how to improve the careers programme
  • Be able to obtain careers guidance that is impartial, confidential & focused on your needs
  • Be able to talk to fully qualified advisors
  • Be able to visit universities, workplaces, colleges and employers
  • Be able to speak to employers, specialists, trainees, universities, students & external advisors
  • Get help and support to achieve the best grades in your GCSEs/VCerts/A Levels/BTECs
