TEACHER OF DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Design and Technology teacher with a Product Design specialism who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and passionate about teaching the subject.

Technology at St. Wilfrid’s is an exciting and engaging subject. We have an established and successful Technology curriculum at both Key Stage 3 and 4, covering a range of aspects including Food, Textiles, Electronics and System development.  The Technology department strive for excellence in everything they do, aiming to provide consistently outstanding teaching and learning experiences for our students, through the use of innovative and forward thinking approaches.

Facilities have recently been updated and are a great resource for this valued curriculum area. Resources include wood and metal hand tools, CAD/CAM machinery, laser cutters and a 3D printer. The department is also resourced with a computer room.

There are classrooms for individual technology subjects including two specialist food rooms, product design rooms and a specialist textiles room with sewing machines. The department also has two dedicated technicians.

We welcome applications from experienced teachers or NQTs (for whom we have a very effective induction and mentoring program) that are committed to securing high standards of learning and teaching in order to raise academic achievement in these very popular subjects in our school.

It is essential that applicants have very strong subject knowledge and are capable of delivering outstanding classroom practice to Key stages 3 and 4. Our teachers must be able to work collaboratively and supportively with colleagues and have high expectations of all learners.

St Wilfrid’s is a successful 11-18 school with a strong Catholic ethos, set in a caring and inclusive community, where the celebration of our student’s talents and passions are paramount to everything we do. In 2017 the A Level average point score per entry was 30.46 and 72% of students achieved grade 4 in both English and Maths.

The successful candidate would join the team of lunchtime supervisors, supporting the Catering Manager. General duties will include supervising pupils during meal times, ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of pupils at all times, general dining room duties plus setting up of dining room tables and chairs and light catering duties.

Trust Governance Clerk(s)

The Bishop Konstant Catholic Academy Trust is seeking to make appointments to the post of Trust Governance Clerk. The Trust comprises 12 academies; 10 primary and 2 secondary, mainly within the Wakefield District.

The Trust Governance Clerk will provide high quality clerking support to selected meetings of the Trust Board, Academy Councils and Committees.

Under the direction of the Trust Governance Manager, the Trust Governance Clerk will provide effective administrative support, constitutional and procedural advice and guidance to meetings.

The Trust is seeking to recruit someone who is positive, committed, self-motivated and flexible.  The successful candidate will:

  • be flexible and available to attend meetings during the daytime and evening at the convenience of the Trust Board/Academy Council/Committee
  • have proven experience of clerking meetings in the education sector including the production of high quality minutes
  • be an efficient administrator who is well organised and able to meet deadlines
  • have excellent ICT skills, especially with Word. Candidates will need access to relevant equipment for working from home (computer, printer, internet)
  • provide advice on procedural and constitutional matters
  • be a confident researcher, able to keep abreast of changes in education and governance
  • be willing to undertake training as necessary for legal compliance and personal development

In return the Trust will offer:

The post is offered on a casual basis. The minimum offer will be 6 meetings per year.  Start times of meetings range from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm.

The commencing salary will be £11.19 per hour (£21,589 per annum, pro-rata). Payment is expected to range between 7 to 10 hours per meeting. Meetings are held at academies and in the Trust Central Office, Nostell, Wakefield WF4 1AB.

TEMPORARY IT HELPDESK ASSISTANT (Maternity Cover)

FULL TIME POSITION 37 HOURS PER WEEK (Term Time Only)

TERM TIME SALARY: Grade 3 £15,070 – £15,371 (FTE £18,065 – £18,426)

REQUIRED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

We are looking for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic person who will have a proven track record of good customer service, ideally with IT knowledge to provide first line support as part of the Trust IT Team.

The post covers a number of areas, specifically:

  • Providing face to face and telephone assistance to staff across the BKCAT Trust schools regarding IT faults. Many faults are not expected to be resolved by first line support and therefore logged and assigned to a suitable technician.
  • Manage the IT Helpdesk, be aware of ticket system and their status ready to update staff and student as required.
  • Organise and arrange manufacturer repairs for IT equipment and facilitate the loaning of equipment ensuring that all is logged and documented correctly.
  • Keep an accurate record of IT equipment on our Asset Register.
  • Provide administrative support to the IT Team including logging tickets, managing user accounts, keeping records of policies and preparing documentation.

All duties of this role are to provide an effective IT service to all schools in the Trust and the Trust Central Office.

ICT / AV TECHNICIAN

FULL TIME POSITION 37 HOURS PER WEEK (All Year Round)

 SALARY: Grade 5 £19,554 – £21,166 (Pay Award Pending)

We are looking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic ICT technician who will have experience and knowledge working in an ICT support environment. The successful candidate will be an instrumental part of the Trust IT team. They will be expected to work and travel across all schools within the Trust and will be required to use their own initiative and be independent at times.

The overall purpose of the post:Identify, diagnose and resolve ICT / AV related problems;

  • Provide advice and support to ICT users;
  • Install and maintain large scale hardware and software deployments;
  • Provide server maintenance and support.

All duties of this role are to provide an effective IT service to all schools in the Trust and the Trust Central Office.
