ADMINISTRATION and FINANCE ASSISTANT

TEMPORARY ONE YEAR FIXED TERM CONTRACT TO 16th JULY 2020

 Grade 4, scale point 5

Actual salary £8,475 per annum paid pro rata

Based on 20 hours per week, term time only. Monday to Friday 9.30-1.30

Required as soon as possible

Under the instruction of the Office Manager, provide administrative and financial support to the staff and students of the academy including the sixth form provision.

Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from pupils, parents and staff, adhering to confidentiality procedures and data protection policies. Being able to deal with delicate situations, tactfully and diplomatically.

Provide support in organising school events in consultation with senior members of staff. This would include Parents Evenings and Open Day Events. Maintain manual and computerised records relating to school systems as directed.

NCOP HIGHER EDUCATION PROGRESSION OFFICER

Temporary position initially until August 2021

Go Higher West Yorkshire (formerly HEART), a consortium of 13 Higher Education Providers in West Yorkshire, is looking to appoint a Higher Education Progression Officer to support the delivery of the Officer for Students (OfS)funded National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP).

NCOP seeks to identify and address issues around progression to higher education for young people living in areas where progression is low overall, and particularly low when GCSE attainment is taken into account.  Working with a selected cohort of KS4 and KS5 students from St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School and Sixth Form College , you will support their applications and transition into higher education, ensuring that all who have the potential to succeed have the opportunity to do so.  You will be responsible for the development and delivery of individualised Learning Agreements for your target group, ensuring the effective involvement of parents/carers, staff and other key stakeholders in the project, and arranging events and activities.  You will work within the management team and be responsible for the day to day operation of the programme.

You will be based within the Career Department at St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School & Sixth Form College in North Featherstone , but will require the holder to work on a flexible basis, which will include some evening, weekend and school holiday work.

LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

28.5 hours per week, term time only

To work with all school staff including teachers, higher level teaching assistants (HLTA) and other learning support assistants to enable students to realise their potential academically and personally.

The successful candidate would join the Special Educational Needs team supporting the SENCO with all aspect of learning for children with additional needs. Hours are 8.40- 3.10pm Monday to Friday term time only.

The successful candidate will be able to work with initiative and flexibility to support students one to one, in small groups and in whole class environments.

SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

Temporary position to cover a period of maternity leave

With over 20 members of staff (teaching across all three scientific disciplines in Key Stages 3-5), we are excited to work with a highly motivated and enthusiastic applicant, who can further enhance our wide-ranging Science curriculum. You will also play a key role in helping to further develop an existing culture for engaging practical science, both in lessons and extracurricular enrichment.

Duties will include the collation and preparation of teaching resources, management of inventory, laboratory and apparatus servicing/repair, an awareness of and responsibility for in lesson and departmental health and safety, related administration, and the support of the school’s wider catholic ethos of community and opportunity for all.

It is essential that applicants possess the following;

  • Grade C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Science, English and Mathematics
  • A wide range of technical and scientific skills, including knowledge of current codes of practice and legislation relating to Science education.
  • A desire to develop professionally through CPD initiatives.
  • Prior experience of working within a Science faculty is desirable, as is a degree in a scientific discipline.
