Voluntary Contribution Scheme - St Wilfrids Catholic High School and Sixth Form College

Voluntary Contribution Scheme

Voluntary Contribution Scheme

You will have heard in the press that all schools are finding it very challenging to operate on the reducing levels of government funding they receive and it appears this is not going to improve in the foreseeable future.

It is at times like this that the voluntary contributions from parents can make the greatest difference to what we can do beyond teaching and learning. We would like to thank all those that have contributed to the Voluntary Contribution Scheme and hope we can rely on your continued support.

To enable St Wilfrid’s to provide the additional support and services characteristic of a successful Catholic school, as well as funding additional projects, we believe a continued voluntary contribution from supportive families will significantly benefit our students. The amount contributed last academic year (2018-2019) amounted to £8,297.

The above donation has helped give the school the opportunity to:

  • Purchase new IT equipment
  • New outdoor benches and seating

We have identified a number of capital projects that school would like to pursue in order to meet the needs of our students; these include improvements to school facilities. The projects will improve and enhance the learning environment for our students now and in the future.

We would ask those parents who do not currently contribute to consider making a regular donation (e.g. a few £s a month) to our Voluntary Contribution Scheme or maybe make a one-off payment of any amount.

Donations can be made in the following ways:

  • standing order (please ask school for details)
  • cash payments can be sent in a clearly marked envelope
  • by cheque payable to ‘St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School’
  • if you already pay by standing order, please check that it is active/up to date

Gift Aid – The scheme used by charities and donors to reclaim tax on charitable donations.

You can also help us to raise further funds if you are a UK taxpayer by completing a gift aid declaration. At no additional cost to you, this will raise an additional 25p for every £1 donated which would directly benefit St Wilfrid’s Catholic High School. Ask school for A GAD form.  If you would like St Wilfrid’s to further benefit from your donation please complete and return the form to the school finance office.

Your contribution may be paid monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or annually by standing order, cash or by cheque. A monthly standing order of £5.00 would result in an annual contribution of £60.00.
